Dear Valued Customer and Community Member,

Thank you for your expressed interest in our Emergency Training School. I wanted to inform you that my Senior Leadership Team and I are closely monitoring all of the updates regarding this pandemic. We are still open to schedule services for the future and provide you access to online training depending on the course that you are interested in. We will be monitoring conditions and will reopen our in-person  training as soon as we are approved too. On April 7, 2020, our NJ governor extended the shutdown of non-essential businesses for an additional 30 days. As stated above, we continue to monitor the current situation day by day).

We are not responsible for missed messages in other locations. Please be aware that we do not have a timeframe as to when in-person training will be made available. Furthermore, we wanted to share with you that all of our instructors are being kept informed of these policies and will continue to take the recommended precautionary steps in helping to prevent the spread of illnesses in our classes.

We are asking Instructors and Customers to follow to following protocols:

  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • If tissues are not available, cough or sneeze into the crook of your elbow.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces with a commercial or household cleaning spray or swipe.
  • In our confirmation and reminder emails the following will be stated: “If you have been ill or has any signs of illness within the past 24 hours prior to the class ( cough, runny nose, fever or other symptoms), you should not attend the class and reschedule your training for no additional cost or questions asked at this time. The instructor will remind participants at the beginning of each class that if any participant needs to discuss medical conditions or illness, the instructor will meet with you privately. If you inform the instructor that you have been feeling ill or have any of these symptoms, they will advise you to reschedule your class. Your conversation is confidential and will not be shared with other participants. We appreciate your willingness to complete your training, but would like you to be healthy.
  • Follow CDC’s recommendations for using a facemask
    • CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including CVOID-19
    • Face Masks should be used by people who are ill to help prevent the spread of the disease to others.
    • The use of face masks is also crucial for health workers and people who are taking care of someone in close settings (at home or in a healthcare facility).

The following protocols are taking place when we re-open for in-person training  until further advised by the CDC and the American Red Cross.

  1. Instructors will use a 1:1 student to manikin/ training aid model.
    1. For first aid and obstructed airway skills the instructor will ask students to practice on themselves.
    2. For airway obstruction, per the American Red Cross Guidelines, instructors will teach using abdominal thrusts. No back blows will be part of the skills training at this time.
    3. Students will be set up where they are 6ft apart from each other
  2. Instructors are cleaning manikins and training equipment with Lysol wipes before, during, and after participants are using our training equipment.
  3. Instructors are providing additional face shields and gloves to participants when practicing skills.
  4. Instructors and team members are decontaminating high-fringe areas such as our laptops, tables, chairs, bins, boxes, doors etc. using Lysol wipes and other recommended sanitizers by the CDC.
  5. We are continuously providing updates and resources for our customers and community stakeholders from the CDC, state health department, and the American Red Cross. These resources can be found on our website, facebook, and instagram profiles.
  6. We are recommending good hygiene practices such as washing hands for 20 seconds using warm water and soap, the use of tissues, hand sanitizers ( not to be replaced with hand washing), and recommending that customers and team members stay home when they are feeling sick.
  7. For remote classes, we are making sure that ALL remote classes have a working bathroom with a sink that has warm water, disinfectants, Lysol wipes, and if possible hand sanitizers.
  8. For any aquatics based classes, we are working with pool managers to make sure that pool chemicals are balanced and are within the recommended ranges per the NJ Health Department.
  9. Garbage and trash bags will be continued to be thrown out at the end of each class, as always.
  10. Classes will be reduced in size to make sure that the spread of CVOD-19 can not be spread.
  11. Continuous training and meetings will occur with our team members to ensure that the following stated above is being followed.

Classroom Cancellations/Transfers:

Until further notice, customers will be able to transfer to any class within a 12 month period for no additional fees. Our refund policy will remain the same.

If you have any questions or concerns about our current plan or our school, please do not hesitate to reach out to us by calling 732-307-4241 or emailing us at info@certsforlife.net . We are urging everyone to stay up to date with recommended guidelines and procedures by their local health departments. Safety is my top priority. Be well and be safe.
