What is 'Certifications For Life, Inc.?'
​Certifications for Life, Inc. is a privately owned educational consulting firm, located in Central New Jersey, dedicated to equipping the local community with the tools needed to save a life in the event of an emergency. Our knowledgeable staff has been expertly trained not only by the American Red Cross, but also by major institutions as well. You're in good hands.

Who is Certifications for Life affiliated with?

We are proudly affiliated with the American Red Cross as a Licensed Training Provider (LTP) of Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid Classes with the State of New Jersey. Each of our instructors are all licensed through the American Red Cross, and have been certified through Rutgers University Aquatic School in Piscataway Township, New Jersey.

What services can you offer me?

We offer an array of American Red Cross courses, ranging from basic Adult CPR to Lifeguarding. We also offer in-service training for companies and individuals who would like to sharpen either their own skills or the skills of their employees! Our Risk Management department can also help evaluate the readiness of your facility in case of an emergency!

If you are interested in taking a course with us, visit our registration page! You must have a free account in order to sign up!

How do I pay for a course?

You will pay for your course using our class registration software or through our invoices sent through email. First you will select the course you choose to sign up for. Then, you will be prompted to create a free account. Once this process is completed, you will be able to pay for your course! Please note that you must have be 18 years or older to register yourself or another individual for a course! In addition, you must pay via credit card for your course. We do not accept walk-ins, cash or check!

​How long will it take to receive my certification?

1-5 business days, not including weekends or holidays to receive your certificate. It will be delivered via email directly from the American Red Cross, so please check your email frequently. Please note that your certification will come in an 8.5x11" printable PDF. If you wish to print a card, you will have to contact the American Red Cross. Certifications for Life does not have involvement in how certifications are delivered and in which form they are delivered in. If you do not receive a certificate after 10 business days, please give Certifications For Life a call so we can contact our Red Cross representative.

What is your refund policy?

For all CPR/AED courses, you can get a full refund of the classroom fee up until 2 days (48 hours) before the class session. It is important to note that when you cancel your class, classroom supplies, materials, and training equipment CANNOT be returned to vendors. You will have to pay a cancellation fee of $38.00. This is non-negotiable. For Lifeguard Training Classes, you can get a full refund of the classroom fee up until 2 days (48 hours) before the class session. It is important to note, that when you cancel your class, classroom supplies, materials, and training equipment CANNOT be returned to our vendors. When you cancel a class, you will have to pay a cancellation fee of $100.00. This is also non-negotiable. Please read the course policies and expectations for the course that you have chosen to register for. Each course is different and it is up to our customers to read all necessary information before the start of your course. We adhere to all American Red Cross, state, and local protocols. Certifications For Life Inc. reserves the right to cancel any class for any reason without providing any refund to the above customer. Note that courses are usually canceled due to inclement weather. If this ever occurs, you will be scheduled for the next available session. If the facility closes at any time, we will inform you as soon as we know and you will be transferred to the next available session.

Where can I find your Terms & Conditions of service?

We encourage you to read our Terms & Conditions before enrolling in a course. You will be required to sign a copy of these Terms & Conditions stating you acknowledge them before you attend your course.

How can I check that I registered for a course?
Call us or email us! Customer Agents will tell you! 

Where can I find my direct/deep link?
You can find your deep link in the middle of your confirmation email. 

Who do I call if I have technological issues/concerns with my online section of the course?
Please call 1-800-RED-CROSS.

When do I have to make my payment for my course?
All payments are due by 5pm 1 day before your scheduled class. 

Do you accept cash or checks as a payment method?
Only corporate clients can make payments by check. No cash! Credit/Debit cards are always acceptable.

What other ways can I make payment?
Customers are allowed to make payment through their PayPal accounts. Venmo and other third party applications are not currently accepted at this time.

When I am registering my child for a class it is asking me for a driver's license, but my child is to young or my child does not have a driver's license. What do I do?
The parent/Guardian needs to put their driver's license. We ask for this as the parent/guardian is the individual who Certifications For Life inc. will contact regarding the account. The other reason, is to make sure that an adult 18 years of age or older truly created the account. 

What forms of photo ID are accepted to gain entry into my class?
A drivers license for all customers who are at least 17 years of age or older. For customers who are younger the following will be accepted: passport, birth certificate, school ID or a parent or guardian who is listed on the account who brings their driver's license will be acceptable. Nothing else will be accepted. NO EXCEPTIONS. 

How late can I arrive to my class?
Our courses are professional. Punctuality is a requirement. However, our instructors understand that things happen and are out of the control of our customers. We give a grace period of 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, instructors and our security guards will deny access into our classes. Our classes are time sensitive that meet the requirements of the Red Cross. It is not fair to the other customers in the class to be held up. As a courtesy for calling or showing up to our location, we will transfer you into the next available class at no additional cost. There are no refunds offered for customers who are late. Instructors notate the times for when customers arrive.

Will the instructors allow me into the class when I did not complete my online course or cannot provide an online completion certificate?
NO! The online portion needs to be completed before attending the skills session. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Can the instructor provide me something in writing that I completed the course?
We apologize we can’t. We can provide a phone call verification with a written email from you  that you attended the skills session and depending on whether the instructor tells you that you successfully completed the course, we can state that your certification is in the process of being created.

Will I receive a certification at the end of my class?
ONLY for customers who pay for same day certification processing which is available when registering for a class. All other customers will get their Certifications 1-5 business days excluding weekends and holidays. Instructors need to the time to complete grades as does the Red Cross need the time to make sure that we administered your course to fidelity.

If I fail my course, can I get a refund?
No! We apologize, but you will need to register for another class and re-pay the fee. Each course has certain assessments and core objectives that the course participant needs to meet by the end of their course. It is up to the discretion of the instructor to decide if a participant has met the objectives.

Do you accommodate course participants who have special needs?
Yes, we do. Every instructor is highly qualified and trained to work with our course participants who have special needs. The instructors are trained to work with participants who have 504 plans or IEP’s. If you have specific concerns, please call us or email us.

I did not receive my certification! What do I do?
After 5 business days, please check your spam box. If you do not see your certification in your spam box, please contact us by phone or email. We will provide you an answer as to where your certification is. You can even call 1-800-RED-CROSS.

Can I have certification cards instead of a paper certification?
Yes you can. You can print card sized certifications right from your digitial certification link. Please keep in mind, that you will have to pay for your own cardstock. You can also ask 1-800 for certification cards. There is a fee that Red Cross will ask for in order to get those cards.

I have called 1-800-REDCROSS and the customer representative stated they can’t find my account. What do I do?
We apologize for this frustration. Please provide customer support with your username and password for your online account or any specific case numbers that we have provided for you. If nothing gets resolved please ask the customer representative for a case ID number. Then email us a copy of the case number and we will send it to our escalation department.

I am not happy with service that I have been provided with 1-800-REDCROSS. Who do I contact?
You are allowed to ask for a supervisor from 1-800 or you can email us your concerns. We will send your emails to the right officials who work at Red Cross. We can not discuss employee discipline.

I am not happy with the service that Certifications For Life Inc. has provided me. Who can I contact?
We would like to resolve all concerns as best as possible. Customer experience is important to us. You can call or email us to speak to our administration team. You can also call 1-800-RED-CROSS and discuss your concerns.
